What’s wrong with sore running calf muscles

Running calf muscle soreness may be caused by too much exercise, improper running posture and other physiological reasons, may also be caused by deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities, myofasciitis and other pathological reasons.
1. Physiological reasons: too much exercise, improper running posture, warming up before running, etc. can cause excessive fatigue of the calf muscles during running, and anaerobic respiration produces acidic metabolic substances, resulting in muscle soreness, which can be relieved after resting.
2. Pathological causes
(1) Lower extremity deep vein thrombosis: patients suffering from lower extremity deep vein thrombosis will have symptoms such as pressure pain, soreness, distension and so on in the lower extremity, accompanied by reddening of the skin color and elevation of temperature.
(2) Calf myofasciitis: Calf myofasciitis is mainly characterized by muscle tension, pain, spasm, limited movement and other symptoms, which will aggravate the pain when running.
If muscle pain often occurs when running, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to find out the specific cause of the disease and then treat it.
