Pediatric hydronephrosis surgical criteria need to meet several conditions: the value of hydronephrosis is greater than 3 centimeters in ultrasound examination, the level of renal function is lower than 40% of the normal level, and there are recurrent urinary tract infections or urinary tract stones.
1. The value of hydronephrosis is greater than 3 cm in ultrasonography: clinically, pediatric hydronephrosis is mainly based on 0.9-1.1 cm of the anterior and posterior diameters of the renal pelvis as the limit, and if the hydronephrosis is greater than 0.9 cm, surgery can be considered.
2. Renal function level is lower than 40% of the normal level: renal function test can be done, if the renal function level is lower than 40% of the normal level, it is considered to be renal impairment, and the residual renal function can be preserved through surgery, and some researches have shown that, when the renal function level is lower than 40%, the recovery condition is better in early surgery than late surgery.
3. Repeated urinary tract infections or urinary stones: surgery is needed to relieve symptoms and avoid other complications. If the patient has urinary tract obstruction, surgery should be done as soon as possible.
Pediatric hydronephrosis should go to the hospital in time, through professional physician examination to evaluate the surgical conditions, and choose the right time for surgery.
