Where’s the sciatic nerve in the buttocks?

The sciatic nerve is located in the posterior aspect of the buttocks, and the projection of the sciatic nerve is generally between the sciatic node and the greater trochanter of the femur. The sciatic node and the greater trochanter of the femur are two very important surface markings that can be touched in the human body. The greater trochanter of the femur is located on the lateral side of the thigh, and most of the bulge of the greater trochanter of the femur can be touched; while the sciatic node can be touched when pressing the middle of the buttocks, and the protruding sciatic node is clearly touched. The sciatic nerve is located in the middle of these two body markers, in addition, there are two important branches of the sciatic nerve, one for the muscle branch, the other for the joint branch, these two branches are located in the deep layer of the human body’s muscles, mainly to innervate the human body’s inner muscles and the human hip joint.
