Rehabilitation training for ankle fracture patients should be based on the different healing conditions, corresponding joint and muscle training, and with physical therapy. 1. Early stage of fracture: In the early stage of ankle fracture, rehabilitation training should focus on relieving edema. The affected limb should be elevated and the toes should be moved. If external fixation is carried out, the ankle joint activities should be restricted; if internal fixation is carried out, the ankle pump movement should be carried out appropriately, but it is not advisable to bear weight too early. 2. Late stage of fracture: appropriate training should be carried out in the late stage of fracture to restore joint mobility and enhance muscle strength. Under the operation of the doctor, joint loosening can be performed to relieve joint stiffness, resistance training can be carried out with the help of elastic band, and weight bearing can be carried out gradually with the help of crutches for the training of standing up and walking. Patients with ankle fracture should undergo rehabilitation training under the guidance of a professional rehabilitation physician, so as to avoid secondary injuries caused by self-training. In addition, patients with ankle fracture should undergo physical therapy such as wax therapy, infrared ray, ultrasound therapy and other physical therapies under the advice of a doctor to promote blood circulation, soften scarring and loosen adhesions.
