10 Exercises for Whiplash

Cervical spondylosis is categorized into nerve root type, sympathetic nerve type, vertebral artery type and spinal cord type cervical spondylosis, not all cervical spondylosis can be recovered through exercise, and there are not ten universal cervical spondylosis exercise methods. It is recommended to consult a doctor for a clear diagnosis and a specialist to determine the treatment plan. Neurogenic cervical spondylosis is the most common type of cervical spondylosis, which is caused by herniated cervical discs or cervical joint hyperplasia compressing the nerve roots, and the symptoms are shoulder and neck pain radiating to the upper limbs. The cause of sympathetic cervical spondylosis is unknown. Symptoms associated with sympathetic abnormalities such as headache, dizziness, abnormal heart rate, nausea, vomiting, and tinnitus may occur. Vertebral artery-type cervical spondylosis is due to the compression of the vertebral artery by bony structures after degenerative changes in the cervical spine, resulting in narrowing of the vertebral artery and symptoms such as palpitations, arrhythmia, and gastrointestinal hypoplasia. Spinal cord cervical spondylosis is caused by degenerative changes in the cervical spine and compression of the spinal cord by bony structures, which may cause numbness of the limbs, dysfunction of urination and defecation, and so on. The treatment of cervical spondylosis needs to be decided according to the type, in which the treatment of nerve root, sympathetic nerve and vertebral artery cervical spondylosis is mainly non-surgical, such as cervical spine traction, physical therapy, improvement of daily bad posture, functional exercise, and so on. If the pain is severe, pain medications such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen may be prescribed to relieve pain. The spinal cord type should be treated with prompt surgery to remove structures that are compressing the spinal cord and relieve pressure on the spinal cord. If pain or discomfort exists in the cervical spine, it is recommended to seek medical attention to clarify the type of cervical spondylosis and have a treatment plan developed by a specialist, and self-exercise is not recommended.
