Is your “asthma” a curable “asthma”?

When you see such an eye-catching title, you must have all kinds of doubts, right? As the saying goes, “You can’t cure ringworm from the outside, but you can’t cure asthma from the inside”, so you can imagine how stubborn and difficult it is to cure. Why do we dare to “risk the medical profession” and put forward the slogan that “asthma” is curable? This is mainly due to the personal experience of academician Wang Zhonghao of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who suddenly developed “asthma” when he was nearly 70 years old, and experienced frequent life-threatening attacks. After two years of misdiagnosis and mistreatment, Wang finally confirmed that he was suffering from “not asthma, but GERD”, and his “asthma” miraculously disappeared after gastroesophageal microfrequency treatment and laparoscopic fundoplication. In order to benefit more patients with “asthma” like him, academician Wang led the establishment of the first “GERD Center” in the Second Artillery General Hospital in April 2006, and has treated thousands of patients with GERD misdiagnosed as “asthma”. After receiving treatment, their asthma has been reduced, relieved or even cured to different degrees. The clinical practice further verifies the good effect of our treatment of “asthma”, and the results are even more encouraging. Here, we would like to wake up the medical professionals and hope that they will re-understand, carefully diagnose and avoid mis-treating “asthma”, because the patient may not have “real asthma”, but “fake asthma”. The patient may not have “asthma” but “pseudo-asthma”, which is an extra-esophageal manifestation of GERD! If the patient’s “asthma” is caused by GERD, both the symptoms and the root cause should be treated, but to get to the root of the problem, GERD must be treated. At the same time, we would like to make a loud appeal to all patients and their families to observe whether their “asthma” attacks are closely related to their diet. Is there any aggravation or triggering of “asthma” when lying down or bending over? Do you have any gastroesophageal reflux symptoms such as acid reflux, heartburn, chest and back pain? Have you had any upper gastrointestinal diseases such as esophagitis, hiatal hernia, cardia failure, bile reflux gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcer, etc. in the past? If you have one of these conditions, it is very likely that your “asthma” is caused by GERD, and if so, your “asthma” may be cured!
