What are the symptoms during recovery from ankle ligament injuries

Symptoms during ankle ligament injury recovery mainly include pain, swelling, subcutaneous bruising, limited mobility and limping.
1. Pain: One of the most common symptoms of an ankle ligament injury is severe pain in the ankle joint. The level of pain increases with the movement of the ankle joint. Symptoms of the level of pain increase when walking or sitting, and patients suffering from ankle ligament injuries feel better when lying down or when the leg is elevated above the level.
2. Swelling: Ankle ligament injuries may swell slowly or quickly. Swelling is due to soft tissue edema and subcutaneous tissue bleeding caused by ankle ligament injury. The more serious swelling includes the entire lateral aspect of the ankle and the heel. In the case of ankle joint effusion, the physiologic depressions on the anterior and inferior sides of the inner and outer ankle and the sides of the heel are full, and the joint contour is very unclear.
3. Subcutaneous bruising: after tearing of ankle ligaments and joint capsule, there is subcutaneous bleeding due to rupture of capillaries, and bruising and cyanosis of the skin can be seen after the injury.
4. Limitation of activities: patients with ankle ligament injury will have the symptom of limitation of ankle activities, mainly because the patients often limit the ankle joint activities due to pain or swelling, thus the range of motion is limited.
5. limp: because of the pain when walking, the foot does not dare to completely land, walking limp situation.
