The onset of pediatric cerebral palsy and its prognosis

Nowadays, pediatric cerebral palsy is no longer a rare disease, about one out of every 300 births will have or develop pediatric cerebral palsy, and it spreads to all countries and all types of families. The incidence of pediatric cerebral palsy in China is about 1.8‰-4‰ live infants, and abroad the incidence is about 1.5‰-5‰ live infants. With the advancement of perinatal blood and neonatal emergency medicine and the establishment of NICU, some very low weight babies or critically ill newborns have survived, increasing the chance of cerebral palsy. Due to the medical conditions in the past, many people thought that pediatric cerebral palsy was an incurable disease. However, it is time for people to change their mindset. With the development of medical science in recent years, pediatric cerebral palsy has become a curable disease. If early interventions are given to pediatric cerebral palsy patients, they will be able to take care of themselves, except for those who are particularly severe.
