What is the significance in the treatment of cerebral palsy

Rehabilitation training is the most basic, direct and effective way to treat cerebral palsy, and it accompanies the medical and surgical treatment of cerebral palsy in children all the time. The core of pediatric cerebral palsy rehabilitation training is motor function training, which is based on the theory that when cerebral palsy occurs, some of the brain cells have been damaged or necrotic. There are about 14 billion nerve cells in the human brain, and newborns have the same number of nerve cells as adults, but only 1/3 of them are usually involved in activities. Although nerve cells cannot be regenerated, new contacts can be established between neurons through dendrites and axons, or relatively ineffective pathways can be unclogged, so that the structures that did not perform a certain function can take on the unskillful task, restore excitement, and play compensatory roles. This process is called remodeling of brain function. The younger the child, the greater the capacity for remodeling, i.e. remodeling, and the greater the likelihood that cerebral palsy will be cured. Movement disorders and postural abnormalities are the main manifestations of cerebral palsy and are the focus of rehabilitation training. Normal posture and movement training for children in various positions, such as raising the head in the lying position, body symmetry, turning over, correct sitting posture, sitting balance, standing and weight transfer, can inhibit abnormal postures and movement patterns, promote normal postural reflexes, and gradually establish and develop normal movement patterns and master motor skills. Rehabilitation training allows children to learn new and consolidate the skills they have already learned, prevents muscle contractures and deformations, and prevents symptoms from worsening, which is of great social significance in reducing the degree of disability, improving the quality of life, and helping children with cerebral palsy to return to the society.
