Levothyroxine tablets are generally referred to as Levothyroxine Sodium tablets and are used for the treatment of conditions such as hypothyroidism and simple goiter. This medication is used to supplement hypothyroidism caused by a lack of thyroid hormones in the body. It is used for suppression (and replacement) therapy after surgery for thyroid cancer, and it is also used in suppression tests to diagnose hyperthyroidism. When used correctly, levothyroxine sodium tablets do not usually cause side effects of the drug; weakness, pyrexia, and muscle weakness may occur in overdose. The use of this drug is prohibited for people with tachyarrhythmias, patients with hypersensitivity to this drug. The specific dosage and usage of the above drugs should follow the doctor’s instructions, and should not be used on their own to avoid adverse reactions.
