Instructions for use of captopril tablets

Captopril tablets have a mild to moderate intensity antihypertensive effect, the maximum antihypertensive effect is reached in 1-2 hours of oral intake and can be maintained for 6-8 hours. It can reduce peripheral vascular resistance and increase renal blood flow without reflexive acceleration of heart rate. It is suitable for all types of hypertension and is one of the drugs of choice for the treatment of mild or moderate essential or renal hypertension. It can also be used in combination with other anti-blood pressure drugs, such as diuretics, beta-blockers and calcium channel blockers, to increase the efficacy. The antihypertensive characteristics of captopril are able to reduce peripheral vascular resistance in hypertensive patients, prevent and reverse vascular smooth muscle proliferation and left ventricular hypertrophy, and significantly improve the quality of life of hypertensive patients. It has no significant abnormality on lipid metabolism, no central side effects, improves sleep and mood, and persistent dry cough occurs in about 5%-20% of long-term users.
