The parathyroid glands are so hyperactive that patients can become depressed

Depressed mood, memory loss, poor concentration, loss of interest and confidence in life, and even suicidal ideation are often attributed to emotional frustration, tremendous work pressure, and excessive life stress, not knowing that hyperparathyroidism (hyperparathyroidism) can also be the second leading cause of such mental and psychological disorders. In the course of long-term research on hyperparathyroidism ultrasound diagnosis and ultrasound-guided minimally invasive treatment, I have found a concentrated phenomenon in which most patients complain of a decline in enthusiasm for life, more obvious memory loss, increasingly poor sleep, and varying degrees of reduced comprehension, which is confusing and annoying. Could hyperparathyroidism affect human cognitive function, emotional state, self-evaluation and other psychological problems? With this question in mind, the author began to collect and organize case data and review international literature, and found that more and more scholars have raised similar doubts and reported studies. For example, a 27-year-old woman had strong suicidal ideation, which was not relieved by several psychological treatments, and one year later, during a suicide admission, doctors discovered by chance that she had many stones in both kidneys, and then checked her blood calcium and serum parathyroid hormone, both of which were significantly elevated, so the medical team diagnosed her with “primary hyperparathyroidism”. After removal of the diseased parathyroid gland (post-operative pathology confirmed parathyroid adenoma), the doctors were amazed to find that as her blood calcium gradually returned to normal, the woman’s mood, concentration and memory returned to their normal state prior to the onset of the disease, she no longer felt depressed, her suicidal thoughts had disappeared and she felt ridiculous about her previous suicidal behavior. She no longer felt depressed, her suicidal thoughts had disappeared, and she felt absurd and unbelievable about her previous suicidal behavior. In addition to such case reports, a recent multicenter prospective study in Germany showed that depression, anxiety, and reduced quality of life scores are closely related to primary hyperparathyroidism, and that timely and correct diagnosis, early detection of the diseased parathyroid glands, and early treatment can not only prevent more extensive organic damage that will be brought about by hyperparathyroidism, but also rapidly alleviate and improve the patient’s psychological and mental status and prevent suicidal ideation, It also helps to improve the patient’s psychological and mental status and prevent the irreversible cost of life caused by suicidal ideation. It seems that parathyroid health management is very important. I hope that patients with such and such untold problems will take care of their parathyroid glands and take some time to read my articles on parathyroid glands, which may be the crux of your problem.
