Colon cancer is a common malignant tumor among gastrointestinal diseases. Colon cancer often has no special and obvious symptom performance in the early stage, which is mostly not obvious and easy to be ignored. However, through the change of bowel habits with mild symptoms, and abdominal discomfort symptoms such as thin shape of stool, constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain, lumps, etc., timely medical consultation and related examinations such as colonoscopy, imaging examination and pathology examination are conducted to confirm the diagnosis. Whether colon cancer can be cured and how long it can live depends on the clinical stage of colon cancer and the patient’s own condition and other factors. If the patient is in good health, early detection and timely treatment, the 5-year survival rate is about 80%, that is, 80% of people can survive for more than five years; if the patient is in the middle or late stage of cancer and the patient is weak, the cure rate is lower and the prognosis is worse, and the survival period is mostly 3-5 years. In early stage of colon cancer, the cancer has not spread to distant places, so after early detection, early diagnosis, systematic treatment and complete removal of the cancer, the prognosis is better and most patients can achieve clinical cure, i.e. most patients can survive for more than five years. Patients with mid-to-late stage of colon cancer may have symptoms such as intestinal obstruction, anemia and wasting, etc. At this stage, cancer may have extensive metastasis, and it is not easy to be removed, so the 5-year survival rate is 40-50%, and the possibility of cure is low. Patients with colon cancer should pay attention to improve their dietary habits in daily life, avoid eating spicy, stimulating and greasy food, quit smoking and alcohol, maintain a happy mood, exercise appropriately and enhance physical fitness so as to help the recovery of the disease.
