What does pale sinus color mean?

Gastric sinus pale is a mucosal lesion observed in gastroscopy, which refers to the change of the color of gastric mucosa to light red, usually caused by chronic atrophic gastritis. Especially in chronic atrophic gastritis, multifocal atrophic gastritis, one of its characteristic manifestations is the light color of the gastric mucosa, preferably in the gastric sinus, and the pale sinus is usually caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, but also the most important cause of chronic superficial gastritis. People with pale sinus or chronic atrophic gastritis have higher risk of gastric cancer than normal people, but it doesn’t mean that it will happen, so gastric cancer can’t be diagnosed by pale sinus alone, and gastric cancer needs to rely on biopsy and pathology results, and gastroscopy needs to be checked regularly.
