What’s wrong with a high glutamic aminotransferase?

High glutamic transaminase may be caused by physiological reasons such as staying up late for a long time and improper diet, or it may be caused by pathological reasons such as acute viral hepatitis and acute myocardial infarction.
1. Physiological causes: prolonged staying up late, smoking, alcoholism, frequent consumption of barbecue and other stimulating foods, after strenuous exercise, etc., may lead to physiological increase in GATT.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Acute viral hepatitis: it is liver inflammation caused by hepatitis A virus, hepatitis B virus and other hepatophilic viral infections, such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis E, etc. Fever, malaise, nausea, abnormal color of urine, enlarged liver and other symptoms may appear, and it may lead to the elevation of aliquot aminotransferase.
(2) Acute myocardial infarction: acute necrosis of myocardial cells caused by coronary artery ischemia and hypoxia, which may manifest as retrosternal strangulation pain, near-death sensation, arrhythmia, nausea, shock and other symptoms, and abnormal elevation of troponin, glutamine transaminase and other indexes may occur.
High glutamic aminotransferase may also be caused by alcoholic fatty liver disease, etc. It is recommended to consult a doctor for a clear diagnosis and targeted treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
