Advantages of laparoscopy in the treatment of reoccurring and recurrent hernias

1, Laparoscopic surgery is used as a supplement to open surgery in the treatment of inguinal hernia, and is recommended for bilateral hernias, recurrent hernias after anterior approach repair, and for patients with a high level of life and motor function. 2. Laparoscopic incisional hernia repair is the absolute gold standard for patients with defect diameters of 10 cm or less. See the 2009 EHS, 2011 IEHS guideline for abdominal wall hernia. for large incisional hernias with a defect diameter of more than 10cm, laparoscopic techniques have their value as part of the hybrid surgical treatment of large abdominal wall incisional hernias. For CST technique for abdominal wall plastic surgery, laparoscopic tissue structure separation technique (ECST) has also been reported abroad. The advantage of laparoscopic surgery for pediatric hernia does not lie in the size of the incision or the length of the operation. The advantage lies in the fact that by laparoscopic high ligation of the hernia ring, the structures of the spermatic cord can be avoided under direct vision to minimize the damage, and at the same time, the exploration of the contralateral inguinal region can be accomplished laparoscopically, so that the contralateral combined hernia, if found, can be dealt with at the same time.
