What are the symptoms of Omicron virus?

The main symptoms of Omicron Virus infection are fever, dry cough and malaise.

1. Mild cases: there may be moderate/low fever, mild malaise, smell/taste disturbances, etc., dry throat and sore throat, nasal congestion and runny nose, no symptoms of pneumonia, and there also exist some people with no obvious symptoms.

2. Severe cases: Dyspnea and/or hypoxemia appear after one week. Severe cases may rapidly progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sepsis-induced shock, uncorrectable metabolic acidosis, and multi-organ failure.

3. Children’s cases: the symptoms are relatively mild, vomiting, diarrhea and other digestive symptoms may occur, some of them only show poor mental response and shortness of breath. Very few cases may develop multi-system inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C), such as febrile rash, hypotension, shock, coagulation disorders, etc., which may deteriorate rapidly in a short period of time and need to be taken seriously.

If you have the above symptoms, according to your recent trip, determine whether there is a possibility of contact with people infected with Omicron, and do a good job of isolating yourself from your family members in order to prevent them from becoming infected. Nucleic acid testing should be performed as soon as possible, and the patient should be reported to the doctor for appropriate intervention and treatment according to the severity of the disease.
