The role of sodium bicarbonate and contraindications

Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda, is an antacid agent used clinically to relieve acid reflux and heartburn caused by excess stomach acid. Sodium bicarbonate plays an important role in regulating the acid-base balance of body fluids, and is a common drug for the treatment of various metabolic acidosis. Bicarbonate Na can neutralize stomach acid rapidly after taking, its antacid effect is short-lived. This product can cause symptoms such as abdominal distension, belching and erratic reflux after taking, resulting in secondary increase of stomach acid secretion, and should not be taken for a long time. Please refer to the doctor’s interview for specific medication.
