What is the use of sterilized water for injection

Sterilized water for injection is a colorless and transparent liquid, generally odorless, with a pH value of 5.0-6.8, weakly acidic, and hypotonic, often used as a rinsing agent for lumpectomy instruments in various lumpectomy procedures. At the same time, some drugs should not be used in saline or glucose solution due to acid-base requirements, so they also need to be dissolved with sterilized water for injection. And, when doing partial drug nebulization, sterilized water for injection is needed, which can reduce the viscosity of sputum and help patients speed up sputum expulsion. Sterile water for injection is also used for partial catheterization, where fluid is injected into the balloon to help hold the urinary catheter in place, because it is free of impurities and does not interfere with the removal of the urinary catheter. Water for injection is also used during oxygen inhalation, but it is generally not required in a sterilized state.
