How to get rid of “urinary stones” in summer

How can we get rid of the trouble of urinary stones? First of all, many patients with urinary stones have the habit of not liking to drink water, and some studies have shown that by developing the habit of drinking more water and increasing the volume of urine by 50%, the recurrence rate of stones can be reduced by about 86%, which shows the importance of drinking more water. Develop the habit of drinking more water to increase the volume of urine, called “internal washing”, which is conducive to the discharge of a variety of salts and minerals in the body. Drinking a lot of water can play a role in diluting urine, flushing the urinary tract and preventing the formation of stones. Drinking water itself is diuretic, the more you drink, the more thirsty you feel, and over time you can develop a habit. In addition, drinking water should pay attention to the balance, urine concentration at night, so to maintain the amount of urine at night, in addition to drinking water before going to bed, it is advisable to drink water again after getting up at night to urinate. Secondly, to exercise in moderation, usually more activities, such as walking, jogging, doing gymnastics, etc.. You can also jump rope in situ when you are physically fit, which is also good for preventing urinary stones. Some studies have shown that patients who are bedridden for a long time have 4-5 times the risk of developing stones than normal people, mostly seen in patients with hemiplegia, blood clots and fractures. Third, a balanced diet is important. Many patients with stones often ask their doctors: What should I pay attention to in my diet? We know from some of the studies on the causes of stones that dietary habits do play a role in preventing the continued growth and recurrence of stones. The material components of stone formation, the promoters and inhibitors of the stone formation process, may be produced by food metabolism, and the metabolites may also affect the urine composition and pH value, thus affecting the nucleation and growth of stones. According to the survey statistics of stone composition, 80%-84% of urinary stones in China are calcium oxalate stones. Generally speaking, it is better to use less food containing high calcium oxalate, avoid spinach, parsley, asparagus, strawberries, plums, strong tea, chocolate and various dried fruits (walnuts, chestnuts, peanuts, etc., the harder the texture, the more oxalic acid it contains). In addition, refined table sugar and its products can also increase urinary calcium production, which is also advisable to control in patients with stones. Another important component of stones is uric acid stones, accounting for about 8%, mostly found in gout patients. Patients with uric acid stones should avoid eating animal offal and alcohol; limit the consumption of meat, fish, shrimp, shellfish, not more than 100 grams per day; eat less mushrooms and beans. Eggs and milk have a low purine content and can be consumed to supplement the protein needed by the body. In addition, drinking alcohol can also increase the level of uric acid, and alcohol also tends to cause concentration of urine and should not be consumed in excess. Animal protein is important for human nutrition, but if you often go to restaurants, eat a lot of fish and meat, it will increase the excretion of calcium and oxalic acid in the urine, which is very easy to form kidney stones, according to research, more than 50% of the urinary calcium and oxalate in stone patients are derived from animal protein, and if a little animal protein is not eaten, it will cause malnutrition. In addition, urinary tract infection is the main local factor in the formation of urinary stones, and directly related to the effectiveness of the prevention and treatment of urolithiasis. Urinary tract infections caused by Aspergillus, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus are prone to induce stones. These bacteria can break down urea into ammonia, making urine alkaline and prone to urate precipitation and stone formation. Therefore, timely treatment of urinary tract infections is very important to prevent stone recurrence.
