Burning sensation in the vagina is considered to be caused by vaginal inflammation. When the vaginal inflammation stimulates the vaginal mucosa to become congested, red and swollen, causing burning sensation in the vagina and vaginal opening, it is considered to be caused by bacterial vaginitis or trichomoniasis. If there is abnormal vaginal discharge, a small amount of discharge should be taken for routine leucorrhoea test and medication should be administered according to the test results. If it is itchy, do not scratch it with your hands or use hot water to wash it. Since the vagina itself is self-purifying, it is not recommended to use any kind of lotion to cleanse the vagina blindly to avoid disrupting the normal balance of flora and aggravating the infection. Choose loose, comfortable, cotton and breathable underwear, change them regularly and wash them in the sun, and avoid alcohol, spicy and stimulating food.
