Ct or MRI for dizziness

Whether to do CT or MRI for dizziness depends mainly on the condition, and also needs to be combined with the diagnostic advice of a specialist. With the symptoms of dizziness, it is best to go to a regular hospital for examination as soon as possible, and usually doctors will recommend CT or MRI. If sudden dizziness is accompanied by nausea, unsteady walking and unfavorable speech, it is best to check CT of the head first to rule out the possibility of cerebral hemorrhage. If cerebral hemorrhage is ruled out, magnetic resonance examination can be further considered to clarify whether the dizziness is caused by cerebral infarction. It should be noted that if there is a steel plate in the body or a pacemaker is installed, MRI cannot be done, only CT. MRI for dizziness can detect new infarction foci earlier and rule out the risk of cerebral infarction as soon as possible. However, not all patients are suitable for MRI, and it is recommended to choose the appropriate examination in conjunction with the doctor’s opinion. Therefore, when patients experience dizziness, they need to go to the hospital in a timely manner, under the guidance of the doctor to assess the condition, improve the CT or MRI examination, and give standardized treatment.
