Tong Cao Wang Bu Liu Xing Tang contains Tong Cao, Wang Bu Liu Xing, etc. Contraindication to drinking Tong Cao Wang Bu Liu Xing Tang is prohibited for pregnant women.
Tong Cao has the effect of diuretic and drenching (improving the problem of dribbling and urination, and the problem of small amount of urination and inability to pass), and promoting the flow of Qi and lowering breast milk. It is used in treating gonorrhea (increased frequency of urination, astringent pain in urination), edema, postpartum lactation, and blindness. Caution should be exercised if there is deficiency of qi and yin and no internal dampness or heat. Use with caution in pregnant women.
Wang Bu Liu Xing is used for treating blood stasis, dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, postpartum lactation, breast carbuncle (painful redness and swelling of the breasts and poor discharge of breast milk, eventually forming a suppurative disease), pain and swelling, and feverish drenching (obvious burning and stinging pain when urinating, accompanied by frequent urination and urinary urgency, and discomfort of traction in the abdomen), etc. It is recommended for pregnant women, those with blood deficiency and no stasis. It is forbidden to be taken by pregnant women and those with blood deficiency without stasis.
Note that the effect of cooking soup with Tongcao and Wang Buliuhang is limited and generally fails to achieve a therapeutic effect. If there is any discomfort after drinking Tongcao and Wang Bu Liuxing soup, it is recommended to stop using it and seek medical advice promptly.
