Geriatric syndrome (GS) is a syndrome of older adults with the same clinical presentation or problem caused by multiple causes .The main manifestations of GS include visual and auditory impairment, stress ulcers, and decreased physical function. Common geriatric syndromes include abnormal gait, easy falls, visual impairment, hearing impairment, sleep disorders, dizziness, headache, pain, incontinence, constipation, dementia, memory loss, depression, anxiety, Parkinson’s disease, malnutrition, debility, and multiple medications in the elderly. There are also a variety of clinical presentations and symptoms such as medical discontinuity in the elderly, poor end-of-life quality of life abuse, prolonged bed rest resulting in skin decubitus ulcers, and inability to move after braking following a fracture. Comprehensive geriatric assessment is an effective tool to screen for GS. Through comprehensive assessment of the physical condition, functional status, mental health and social environment of the elderly, the possible problems of the assessed organism can be detected at an early stage, and then early intervention can be given to achieve the purpose of promoting the health of the elderly.
