Precancerous gastric lesions are a pathological concept that includes atrophy, intestinal epithelial chemosis, and heterogeneous hyperplasia. Precancerous disease or precancerous state is a clinical concept, including chronic atrophic gastritis, gastric ulcer and gastric polyp, etc. It refers to the fact that patients with such gastric diseases have a higher chance of developing gastric cancer than other patients. The reason why precancerous state has more chances to develop gastric cancer than other patients is that sometimes precancerous lesions appear within the gastric mucosa in precancerous disease. Of course, precancerous lesions, like precancerous state, have milder and more severe ones. Mild ones can be reversed and disappear or develop into severe ones, but severe gastric precancerous lesions or precancerous diseases do not always develop into gastric cancer and reverse and tend to normal differentiation under proper conditions or after reasonable treatment. Therefore, even if you suffer from the above diseases and have precancerous lesions, do not panic, active treatment, regular follow-up and good attitude and lifestyle are your magic weapons to keep away from cancer. One of the important reasons is that this kind of bad psychology and emotion of being afraid of cancer has disturbed the immune system, so that the mutated cells are not easy to be detected and cleared when they mutate, resulting in more and more mutated cells becoming cancerous lumps.
