Do you need to be hospitalized for a medical abortion?

Women who are pregnant and do not have a need to have children can often have a medical abortion, or an induced abortion, or even an induced abortion to terminate the pregnancy. If a woman is within 49 days of menopause and does not have a need to have a baby and is taking mifepristone and misoprostol for a medication abortion, she usually does not need to be hospitalized, but takes the mifepristone at home, and when she takes misoprostol, she needs to go to a hospital gynecology clinic to take it. It is necessary to take the medication in the hospital because of the fear of causing hemorrhage after taking the medication. If a woman needs to take medication to perform a medical abortion because of an angular pregnancy or incisional pregnancy, she needs to be hospitalized and have the relevant tests done, such as blood sampling for routine blood tests, coagulation, liver and kidney functions, and a full set of pretransfusion, before taking the medication to perform a medical abortion. For women who have been menopausal for more than three months, but not more than five months, it is often necessary to take medication to expel the pregnancy sac and placenta first, and then to perform the operation to clear the uterus, which also requires hospitalization and cannot be done in an outpatient clinic. So whether or not a medical abortion requires hospitalization actually depends on the woman’s specific situation to make a choice.
