Can nephritis be detected by CT?

Nephritis cannot be detected by CT. Renal CT examination can only detect morphological and occupational lesions of the kidney, such as atrophy of the kidney, or abnormal development of the kidney, as well as fluid retention, stones and occupational lesions of the kidney. Nephritis is a disease caused by various reasons, especially immune imbalance, etc. It manifests as hematuria, proteinuria, edema, and elevated blood pressure, or creatinine elevation. The vast majority of nephritis patients are not accompanied by renal atrophy, and therefore cannot be detected by CT; however, if nephritis develops to an advanced stage and renal atrophy occurs, then smaller kidney size can be detected during CT examination. In conclusion, at present, the simple and effective way to detect nephritis is to carry out routine urine test, which can find out the situation of protein and occult blood in urine routine, and then carry out detailed diagnosis of nephritis according to the results of routine urine test. It is recommended that patients with nephritis should go to regular hospitals in time, determine the specific treatment plan under the guidance of doctors, and actively cooperate with the treatment to avoid the deterioration of the condition.
