How to treat dry eyes

Eye dryness is called dry eye, which can be treated and relieved using general therapy, medication, and surgery depending on the condition. 1. General treatment: wear wet room goggles and silicone eye shields to reduce air flow and evaporation of tears on the eye surface to delay the residence time of tears on the eye surface; patients with blepharospasm dysfunction should also undergo eyelid cleansing, hot compresses, and blepharospasmic massages to alleviate dry eyes. 2. Medication: Use artificial eye drops to relieve dry eyes; or take oral bromhexine, brucine hydrochloride, neostigmine and other drugs to promote tear secretion. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can be used for mild to moderate dry eyes, while corticosteroids and immunosuppressants can be used for severe dry eyes. 3. Surgery: For patients with severe dry eye, autologous submandibular gland transplantation can be used; however, this surgery can only partially solve the tear secretion problem of dry eye patients, but not the complications of dry eye. Patients with more severe dry eye can also consider permanent lacrimal punctum closure surgery. Dry eye patients should consult a doctor in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment. Avoid eye fatigue.
