What causes sudden heel pain?

Sudden heel pain may be related to Achilles bone fracture, Achilles tendon rupture and other diseases.
Falling from a height and landing on your heel may cause a heel fracture, resulting in severe heel pain, accompanied by shallow arches, swelling of the heel, and subcutaneous bruising.
Sudden heel pain during strenuous exercise such as running, basketball, soccer, etc., may be a rupture of the Achilles tendon. The Achilles tendon can be touched with an obvious feeling of emptiness, and there is weakness in lifting the heel when walking.
Sudden severe pain can also occur when the heel is stabbed by a sharp object while walking.
If heel pain occurs suddenly, it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital to improve the examination and carry out regular treatment.
