Tunnel endoscopic technique is another new advancement in minimally invasive treatment of submucosal tumors. Endoscopic submucosal tunneling endoscopic resection (STER) is performed by establishing a submucosal tunnel and removing the tumor, leaving the mucosal layer of the tumor resection site intact, while closing the wound at the entrance of the tunnel above the tumor. This ensures that the integrity of the GI tract is restored after surgery, avoiding postoperative GI fistulas and secondary infections, and reducing the time of surgery. Compared with surgical procedures, STER has the advantages of less trauma, higher safety, shorter hospital stay and lower cost. In this case, the procedure was smooth, with no complications, and the patient ate on the second day and was discharged on the third day with a good postoperative recovery.
