High Helicobacter pylori hangs up with Gastroenterology. Helicobacter pylori is a spiral-shaped, slightly anaerobic bacterium with very demanding growth conditions. Gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, which can be caused by H. pylori infection, are all conditions that are seen in the Gastroenterology clinic. There are two main types of methods used to test for H. pylori in Gastroenterology; the first is a non-invasive test method that does not require a gastroscopy, and the second is an invasive test method that requires a gastroscopy. Non-invasive testing methods: carbon 13 or carbon 14 breath test, blood draw for H. pylori antibody test, and check for H. pylori antigen in stool. Invasive examination methods: when doing gastroscopy, rapid urease test is performed; when doing gastroscopy, gastric mucosal tissue is taken for pathology testing to see if there is H. pylori; when doing gastroscopy, gastric mucosal tissue is taken and in vitro culture is performed to see if H. pylori can be cultured. Therefore, if you suspect that H. pylori is high, please go to a regular hospital.
