What to do if your child has heat rash

Prickly heat, also known as corn rash, can be handled by general treatment, cold compresses and medication. 1. General treatment: Proper indoor ventilation, wearing soft and loose clothing, keeping the skin dry and clean. Trim baby’s nails to avoid scratching and causing the rash to break out. 2. Cold compresses: Use cold towels or ice packs wrapped in towels to apply ice to the lesion area to help relieve itching and pain caused by prickly heat. 3. Medication: Prickly heat is usually treated with topical medications such as peppermint, glycerite lotion and prickly heat powder, etc. If prickly heat occurs, you can use glycerite lotion and Huanglian Poupou powder externally. If the infection is serious, oral antibiotics, such as amoxicillin, can be used. Parents are advised to take their children to the hospital for treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor and not to use medication without authorization.
