What does chromosome mean?

Chromosomes are the specific form of the genetic material DNA that exists in eukaryotic cells when they divide and are composed of DNA and proteins. Chromosomes are part of the genetic material that determines various things such as height, development, looks, and intelligence of each individual. There are 23 pairs of 46 chromosomes in the body cells of the human body, of which the last pair is the sex chromosomes, two X chromosomes i.e. 46XX for females and one X and one Y chromosome i.e. 46XY for males. During cell division, the DNA will be tightly coiled around the histones as a thread-like structure. Before division, the chromosomes will be doubled and divided equally into two equal parts at the node and enter into the two cells, at which time the chromosomes can be observed under the microscope. Chromosomes are the carriers of genes, and each person has a different chromosome.
