Can Scutellaria Blue and Shuanghuanglian be taken at the same time?

Blue Scutellariae refers to Blue Scutellariae Oral Liquid and Shuanghuanglian refers to Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid, both are not recommended to be taken at the same time. The composition of Scutellaria Blue Oral Liquid includes Radix Scutellariae, Radix Scutellariae, Gardenia jasminoides, Cyperus rotundus and Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati, the effects of which are to clear away heat and detoxify the toxin (clearing away heat and toxicity in the body), to benefit the pharynx and reduce swelling, and it is used for acute pharyngitis, sore throat, dry throat and burning in the pharynx due to lung and stomach solid-heat syndrome. Mild diarrhea occurs in individual patients after taking this product, which can usually be relieved on its own. It should be used with caution for those with loose stools due to spleen deficiency and those with sore throat due to wind-cold cold. Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid is composed of honeysuckle, scutellaria baicalensis and forsythia, and its effects are to relieve wind, clear away heat and toxins, and it is used for colds and flu caused by wind-heat, with symptoms of fever, cough and sore throat. After taking this product, individual patients or patients with allergies may experience allergic reactions such as skin itching and rash; or mild gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Contraindications to this product are unclear. Both drugs have heat-clearing and detoxifying effects that are repetitive and will be increased by concomitant administration, and both contain Scutellaria baicalensis, the effects of which are increased by increasing the amount of Scutellaria baicalensis, and there is a risk of exceeding the safe dosage; therefore, it is not recommended that they be taken together.
