The procedure of breast puncture biopsy includes holding position, disinfection and anesthesia, puncture, hemostasis and so on. 1. Maintaining position: Generally, the patient needs to adopt the side-lying position or flat position. 2. Disinfection and anesthesia: the operator should disinfect the skin of the patient’s chest, put on sterile gloves, disinfect the puncture site with 75% alcohol or iodophor, put on a sterile towel, and then use 1% lidocaine to anesthetize the patient’s local area. 3. Puncture: The operator will find the best puncture point according to the guidance of imaging, determine the best way to enter the needle, puncture the lesion tissue, then withdraw the biopsy needle, take out the tissue specimen for examination, and then repeat the puncture at multiple points. 4. Hemostasis: After the surgical operation is completed, sterile gauze should be put over the puncture site, fixed with adhesive tape, and pressed for 5-10 minutes to stop bleeding, or take chest compression bandage, and finally observe for 30 minutes and leave if there is no abnormality. The patient should inform the doctor about his/her physical condition before the operation, and at the same time, complete the examination of coagulation function, blood routine, breast imaging, and 8 items of infection under the doctor’s guidance. Breast puncture biopsy should be performed in regular hospitals.
