What to do if a child has strabismus in one eye

Children with strabismus in one eye should be examined by a doctor to clarify the specific condition of the strabismus, and then corrected by glasses, medication or surgery under the doctor’s guidance.
If the strabismus is caused by refractive problems, it can be corrected by optometry, and some strabismus that cannot be corrected by lens wearers need surgical treatment.
Some paralyzing strabismus can be treated with botulinum toxin, and for high AC/A accommodative strabismus, pupil constriction can be applied.
If conservative treatment is not effective, if the angle of strabismus is large and constant, or if binocular vision is affected, surgical treatment is needed.
If a child has strabismus in one eye, it is recommended to go to the ophthalmology department of a regular hospital as soon as possible for consultation and examination, and to cooperate with a professional doctor for corrective treatment.
