How long can I drink water after nebulization

In general, patients can drink water about 20 minutes after passing nebulizer inhalation therapy. Nebulized inhalation treatment is to turn the medicine into fine granular aerosol through the nebulizer and inhale it into the airway of human respiration, and after staying for a period of time in the local pharynx and bronchial mucous membrane wall of the airway, it will give full play to the therapeutic effect and achieve the purpose of cough suppression, anti-inflammation, phlegm and asthma. It can be used to treat respiratory diseases such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma and lung infections. If you drink water immediately after nebulization, it is easy to wash off the drug solution attached to the airway, so that the drug can not give full play to the drug efficacy locally in the respiratory tract and reduce the therapeutic effect. Therefore, about 20 minutes after the completion of nebulization treatment, then consider drinking and eating. However, nebulization is not recommended for patients with chronic pharyngitis and tonsillitis. In addition, patients should pay attention to the clean care of the mouth and throat after nebulization, as well as the disinfection of the nebulizer, and avoid eating food with strong irritation.
