What is Pioneerin

Pioneerin, an antibiotic made from cephalosporin C by semi-synthesis. It has structural similarities with penicillins, and its action and principle of action are also similar. It is mainly used clinically for drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and some Gram-negative bacilli, caused by various infections, such as lung infections, urinary tract infections and respiratory tract infections, leukemia and meningitis. Pioneerin belongs to the first and second generation of cephalosporin antibiotics. The first-generation pioneers are cefotaxime and cefadroxil.
