How serious is a bone infection?

Bone infections are very serious, bone infections are the formation of osteomyelitis, osteomyelitis once formed in the acute phase can lead to necrosis of the skin and soft tissues. The chronic phase can lead to the formation of foci of infection in the bones, as well as to the prolonged non-healing of the bones and the incurable condition of osteomyelitis. Normally, osteomyelitis can be treated surgically by reducing the amount of localized pus and reducing the formation of necrotic bone by means of flushing and drainage, which can help to treat osteomyelitis. In severe cases of infection, large segments of bone may become infected, and if repeated treatments fail, surgical treatment is needed to remove the localized infected bone and replace it with bone grafting and gliding.
