Most children with edematous, inflamed inferior turbinates are not considered to be nasal polyps. Therefore, in order to make a clear diagnosis, you must take your child to the hospital in time to perform sinus CT or electronic rhinoscopy to confirm the diagnosis. If a nasal polyp is diagnosed, it is usually treated conservatively, such as using antibiotics and regular rinsing of the nasal cavity, if the polyp is small and there is no obvious discomfort. If the polyp is large and affects breathing, it will need to be surgically removed for treatment.
