Can I exercise after five weeks of nail removal for supracondylar humerus fracture?

Five weeks after the supracondylar humerus fracture, if the fracture has healed and the Kirschner pin has been removed, you should actively strengthen the exercise.

A common complication of supracondylar humerus fracture is inversion deformity of the elbow and elbow stiffness, so functional exercises should be started as soon as possible after the operation.

During the postoperative cast immobilization period, isometric contraction of the muscles should be the main focus, such as fist training. After the cast is removed, active and passive flexion and extension of the elbow joint are performed, together with fine motor exercises and dorsal and palmar flexion of the wrist.

After the removal of Kirschner’s needle, active rehabilitation exercises should be carried out under the guidance of the doctor, and if the phenomenon of inward tilt of the elbow occurs in the process of rehabilitation exercises, it should be reported to the doctor in time.
