The care after a single-port laparoscopy is the same as that after a conventional laparoscopy. It is called single-port laparoscopy, except that the number of holes in the abdominal wall is reduced from 2 or 3 to 1 hole. Routine postoperative care includes monitoring of vital signs and oxygenation, and observation of the patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, pulse rate, and oxygen saturation. Next, for patients with drains, the drains should be properly secured to prevent slippage. Once again, the patient’s diet should be guided. The first day is generally not allowed to eat, and the second day depends on different surgeries. If it is a gastrointestinal surgery, you should wait for two or three days before you can drink water or eat clear soup or other substances.
