If the patient’s eye is injured by a wire and there is a residue in the eye, on the one hand, the foreign body should be disposed of, and on the other hand, the patient should be treated with drugs or surgery for possible simple corneal injuries, corneo-scleral injuries, penetrating injuries, etc., and vaccinations should be carried out. 1. Disposal of foreign bodies in the eye: foreign bodies retained in the eye can lead to endophthalmitis, and patients need to undergo surgery to remove the foreign bodies. 2. Symptomatic treatment of ocular trauma (1) Simple corneal wound: if the corneal wound is small, it can be bandaged with antibiotic ointment such as erythromycin, etc. Corneal wounds of more than 3mm generally require microsurgery to close the wound tightly to avoid leakage. (2) Corneoscleral wounds: surgical closure is required, and antibiotic eye drops, such as tobramycin eye drops, are used as prescribed by the doctor to relieve ocular discomfort after surgery. (3) Penetrating wounds: the obvious wounds in front of the eyes should be sutured immediately. For wounds that are not easy to be found or difficult to be sutured, surgery can be carried out in the second stage to remove the accumulated blood, excise the adherent tissues, and freeze or laser to close the retinal breach. 3. Vaccination: patients should also be routinely injected with tetanus antitoxin injection to prevent wire rust, which can cause tetanus. Patients with foreign bodies in the eye are advised to seek prompt medical attention to assess their condition and follow medical advice.
