What to do if your baby has prickly heat

Infant prickly heat can be treated with general treatment, topical medication and oral medication to improve the symptoms.
1. General treatment: Infant prickly heat is mostly caused by wearing too thick clothes and sweating too much, so you can reduce the amount of baby clothes and wear some loose and breathable clothes, and in summer, you should ventilate the room to avoid the room being stuffy and humid, so as to keep the baby’s skin dry and refreshed.
2. Topical medication: Glycerin lotion can be used externally to relieve the symptoms of itching and pus rash, and to relieve the symptoms of rash; if it is red prickly heat, glucocorticoids can be used for a short period of time, such as hydrocortisone and trimethoprim cream.
3. Oral medication: If the skin lesions are serious and accompanied by bacterial infections, oral antibacterial treatment, such as amoxicillin, levofloxacin and other antibiotics for anti-infective treatment; itching is serious, and those who can’t be relieved by topical medication can be treated with oral antihistamine, such as cetirizine and so on.
