Hawthorn, also known as red fruit, big hawthorn, mountain red fruit, is slightly warm in nature, sour and sweet in flavor, and belongs to spleen, stomach and liver meridians.
Effects: Eliminating food accumulation and dispersing stagnation.
Applicable people: Hawthorn, together with Atractylodes macrocephala and Shenquan, can be used for people with indigestion and abdominal distension by crushing and steaming; for women with postpartum blood stasis and abdominal pain by crushing and decocting; for children with diarrhea caused by spleen deficiency by steaming with Chinese yam; and for people with abdominal pain caused by hernia by decocting.

Methods of consumption: suitable for eating raw, brewing water, decocting soup or preparation, making paste.
