Bleeding for one year after wearing the IUD is an abnormal uterine bleeding. Generally, after wearing the IUD for 3-6 months, vaginal bleeding will occur because the highly effective progesterone in the IUD will cause the endometrium to atrophy poorly and the endometrium to shed irregularly, and the bleeding will not stop. If you have been wearing the IUD for more than half a year, the bleeding will stop because the endometrium has atrophied and the peeling of the endometrium is synchronized, so you will not have more than one bleeding. If you have been wearing the IUD for one year and still bleeding vaginally, it is recommended to have an ultrasound examination to understand the condition of the endometrium, whether there is thickening of the endometrium, uneven echogenicity, or whether there is displacement of the IUD that causes the bleeding. Based on the results of the examination, treatment should be given as appropriate.
