Symptoms of macular disease of the eye

If the eye has a lesion in the macula, the symptoms are generally threefold: first, vision loss of varying degrees, which is one of the main symptoms. Second, distortion of vision. For example, it becomes bigger, smaller, farther away or a straight line is seen as a curved shape. This is a more characteristic symptom of macular degeneration, and once this symptom appears, it can be judged to be caused by macular degeneration. Third, color abnormality. Because the macular area is in charge of the eye’s ability to discriminate colors, some macular diseases may cause color discrimination errors, and this is a common symptom of macular degeneration. Therefore, once the above symptoms appear, it is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible for fundus examination, focusing on macular examination, such as optical coherence tomography or fundus angiofluorography of the macula.
