What does negative ulnar variola mean?

The ulnar negative variant is one of the ulnar variants. Ulnar variations include ulnar negative variations, ulnar neutral variations, and ulnar positive variations. Negative ulnar variant refers to the negative variant when X-ray examination indicates that the ulnar head is shorter than the radius (the parallel line of the articular surface of the ulnar head is lower than the parallel line of the distal-most articular surface of the sigmoid notch); the positive ulnar variant when the ulnar head is longer than the radius; and the neutral variant when both of them are equal. Negative and positive ulnar variations increase the likelihood of ischemic necrosis of the lunate, ulnar carpal impingement syndrome, and wrist instability. If symptoms such as limited wrist movement and localized pain in the wrist are present, prompt medical attention is recommended, and X-rays are recommended to clarify the diagnosis and intervene early in treatment to improve symptoms and relieve pain.
