Patients with unilateral fingertip numbness may be caused by elbow-tube syndrome, cervical spondylosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and peripheral neuritis.
1. Elbow canal syndrome: Elbow canal syndrome is a common orthopedic disease, which is a group of symptoms arising from the compression of ulnar nerve in the elbow by tendon membrane, abnormal muscle or bony changes, mainly manifested as pain in the elbow area, radiating to the proximal and distal ends, which can cause pain, numbness and abnormal sensation of the fingers.
2. Cervical spondylosis: when patients suffer from cervical spondylosis, it may lead to herniated intervertebral discs compressing the brachial plexus nerves, resulting in symptoms such as numbness and pain in unilateral fingertips caused by nerve damage.
3. Carpal tunnel syndrome: Carpal tunnel syndrome refers to the compression of the median nerve at the carpal tunnel, which belongs to nerve entrapment disease, and the patient may have unilateral numbness and tingling of the fingertips, coldness and cyanosis of the affected fingers in the cold season, and insensitivity of finger movement.
4. Peripheral neuritis: mainly manifested as sensory, motor and autonomic dysfunction of the distal limbs. Unilateral numbness of the fingertips may occur.
Unilateral numbness of the fingertips can also be caused by other reasons, it is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in time for examination, clear causes for targeted treatment.
