Does pregnancy raise your temperature?

Pregnancy can increase body temperature. After the sperm and egg combine, the corpus luteum will secrete progesterone, and elevated progesterone will increase the body temperature of pregnant women and maintain it for a longer period of time. Under normal circumstances, a person’s body temperature is usually between 36℃-37℃. After pregnancy, the body temperature of pregnant women usually rises relatively 0.3℃-0.5℃, which can be maintained between 36.3℃-37.5℃. This temperature will last until mid-pregnancy, and after 4 months of pregnancy, the body temperature will slowly return to the normal level. If this condition of elevated temperature lasts for more than 3 weeks and there is no menstruation, no other obvious discomfort, and at the same time there is a pregnancy reaction, there is a higher possibility of pregnancy. If the pregnant woman’s body temperature continues to rise, or is accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, she should go to the hospital in time for relevant examinations to find out the cause of the disease in time, so as to avoid affecting the fetus. Pregnant women are not recommended to use medication on their own, and should be treated symptomatically under the guidance of a professional doctor.
